UW Germanics alum, Gabe Verdugo, appreciates the value of a Humanities degree

After graduating with a degree in German Language and Literature, I stayed at the University of Washington to attend law school.  I worked as a judicial law clerk at the Washington State Supreme Court after finishing law school and now am employed as law clerk at the United States District Court in Spokane, Washington.  I try to keep up my knowledge of German by reading any German books that I can find and staying in touch with friends in Germany.  Although I don't use German directly in my work, studying the language has really helped me improve my reading and writing skills.
