Spring in Vienna Program 2014

Every year the Department of Germanics provides students the opportunity to spend on quarter abroad in Vienna. This year sixteen students took advantage of the departments’ most popular program studying German onsite and learning about the Austria’s rich cultural history.

Here is what some students had to say:

“I have had an absolutely amazing time here in Vienna over the past two months and have experienced so much!”

“I very much look forward to coming here again in the future - until then, Vienna will always remain in my heart, and in my memories!”

“Viiii va Viva la Musika, Viiii va Viii va la Musikaaaaa, Vivaaaa la Musikaaaa!!!”

“It was a conflicting time of beauty and sadness.”

“On my trip I also became a little more self-aware.”

“Taking these language courses and learning about Austrian identity this quarter has given me a different perspective to view life.”

“I have realized something rather important while here. That important thing is the world is rather large and I need to see it.”

“All I could think was that if time were to be bent and past and present became one, I could find myself sitting right next to Sigmund Freud.”

“Or was my studying in Vienna all just a fantastic dream?”

Thank you to Prof. Klaus Brandl who organized this year’s program and led the program on site in Vienna!
