GERMAN 150 A: Conversational German Through Films

Small-group discussion in German based on films viewed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, usually in Smith or Savory Hall. The first nine films of the series are shown in fall, the second nine in winter and the last nine in spring. German 150 is offered all three quarters; however, German 250 is only offered in winter and spring. Students may earn 2 credits per quarter- hence a total of 6 credits in German 150 and an additional 4 in German 250. German 250 counts toward VLPA. German 150 only counts toward VLPA if students also complete 103 or equivalent.

Prerequisites:

German 150: Beginners are welcome; however, students must have taken at least a year of high school or a quarter of college level German before attending 150 in winter or spring quarters.

German 250: One year of college level German or equivalent.

 

 

 

Catalog Description: 
Conversational practice in small groups based on films. Because series progresses through the year, beginners may enroll only Autumn Quarter. May be taken concurrently with other Germanics courses. Cannot be taken for credit if GERMAN 250 previously taken. Offered: AWSp.
