Student Ambassador Miah Robert

Our Student Ambassador is an undergraduate Germanics major who wants to connect with prospective and current students to share their experiences and support them with the college/major decision process.

Here is our new Student Ambassador Miah Robert:

"I began learning German during my freshman year of high school. I instantly fell in love with the culture and was fascinated by the vast history. I enjoyed the many challenges of the German  language and the opportunities it provided in high school and now college. Learning German helped me discover my interest and passion in linguistics as well.

My advice to prospective students is to get involved. I definitely recommend taking a German language, literature, or culture class of course, but getting involved outside of the classroom is important as well. The Germanics department hosts many events such as Kaffeestunde, film viewings, and guest lectures. Each quarter the German club hosts a study slam and weekly Stammtisch meetings. These events are a great way to get to know others with similar interests and make connections both on and off campus."

Get Involved

Germanics offers many opportunities to get involved. Become a student ambassador, participate in Kaffeestunde, joining the German Club, or Delta Phi Alpha is a great way to connect with other students.

Please note: Kaffeestunde and German Club are canceled until further notice. As an alternative, please consider our Virtual Social Hour on Zoom.
