Biography

B.A., Modern Languages - German Emphasis, Northern Arizona University, 2018

Dominik comes to the University of Washington from Phoenix and Flagstaff, AZ. He studied Modern Languages and worked at Northern Arizona University as an undergraduate TA in the Department of Global Languages and Cultures and as the German tutor for GER 101-399. His work with German students at NAU earned him recognition university-wide as the "Best First Year Learning Initiative TA of Fall 2017" and as the Outstanding Senior for the Department of Global Languages and Cultures for the academic year 2017-2018.

Dominik completed his study abroad at the Technical University of Dortmund from September 2016 - July 2017, where he participated in  political science, Germanics, and American studies courses. His Bachelor Thesis, "Sprachliche Integration der deutschen LGBT-Gemeinschaft," explored queer language in Germany as well as the reinforcement and deconstruction of heteronormativity through the German language. Dominik's interest in global languages stems from an interest in diversity and Global Studies focusing on connection, compassion, and coexistence.

Dominik is beginning his MA in the Pedagogy and Culture Program through the UW Department of Germanics.
